Welcome

Welcome to the website of the PhD Network and the CIB Student Chapter. This website provides information about the PhD Network in the Department of Architecture, Building and Planning at the TU/e and the CIB Student Chapter.

Why? The network started in 2005 because of a lack of internal and external communication, professional friendship between floors, departments and even open spaces. A couple of PhD students were (and are) very enthusiastic to make a difference, and that is the motivation for this PhD Network.

What? Our most important goal is better communication between PhD's in this Faculty and also with 'the outside world'. This will be achieved by holding regular formal and informal meetings, assisting with faculty events, and organising occasional social activities.

Who? All PhD candidates from the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning are automatically members and are welcome to get involved with the network. The International Council for research and innovation in building and construction (CIB) “is a worldwide network of building and construction experts who improve their day to day performance through international cooperation and information exchange with their peers”.

We consider it important for TU/e students to participate in this worldwide network:

to open their horizons to the world, accessing the “state-of-the-art” of their and many other research fields;
to take part in this worldwide network, advertising their research and designs: their aims, methodologies and objectives.
